Lower Sacramento River Fly Fishing ReportJune 11, 2016
The flows on the Lower Sac are up to 8000cfs and fishing is good right now. Summer caddis, smaller mays flies and a few pale morning duns seem to be the most prolific hatches. We have also seen stone flies on the cloudy days. Best patterns have been black and brown rubber legs, small baetis patterns in size 16 or 18 and caddis pupa. The water on the Lower Sac is high now and wading is not recommended so consider getting a guide to row you or at least always wade with a buddy. You can expect to hook between 10 to 20 rainbows a day with a good guide right now.
