Upper Yellowstone River fishingOctober 01, 2016
I floated on Sept. 28th with a couple of friends. We drifted Emigrant to Lock Leven. The water is very low in the section from Grey Owl to Lock Leven. It required us to push the boat across the rocks for a short distance. We say 4 dead white fish. Not many bugs on the surface at all. We all had some takes on bead head nymphs. But it was a slow day of fishing. The river current is slow as well. It took 7.5 hours to do this 11 mile stretch and we were rowing the entire way. The best part of the day was the gorgeous Autumn scenery and the company of good friends.
