Wild Trout 2 Hours from Boston

August 28, 2016

Even in the smoldering heat of a New England Summer you can still catch trout if you know where to look! Most of these fish won't be very big, but they will be wild and absolutely stunning in terms of their markings and coloration. The small mountain streams of the New Hampshire White Mountains are teeming with loads of wild trout. Mostly these are Brook Trout, but some streams have Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Landlocked Salmon parr. These fish are eager to take a fly and you can get them on all varieties. They smash dries, they love nymphs, they are absolutely addicted to worm flies, and will even hit a streamer that they have no business going after! Get out there and have some fun exploring the blue lines on the map!!!
