The other day with returning guests from the Smith family we were catching stripers relatively steady and a one of the clients looked in the water right at the edge of the shoal next to the boat and saw a big shark swimming along with the current. Not a minute later we hook up with a nice striper. Just then the shark comes to the surface with a bunch of big splashes and a few shakes of the head tears the bass in half and the rest is reeled in quickly. Not 100% sure what kind of shark it was as I only got a quick look at it on th surface. We finished up the day with a few more bass.
The stripers at Monomoy have been hit or miss and tidal dependent with varying water temps. Hoping the regular mid summer bite comes soon. Lots of blues to catch at Horseshoe. I did two trips to the shoe yesterday and we caught blues many different ways. Lots on the troll then when we found a concentrated area blues were regularly attacking casted poppers. Black Sea bass were also biting the trolled lures regularly in the rips
