Today on Puget Sound

April 29, 2016

We have an OK tide today with high clouds to begin the morning. Moving water makes a big different so it is important to understand which beaches will have moving water on more subtle tides. Chum fry are still scattered around the Sound but have grown so slightly larger flies are going to better emulate them. Some of us like to fish surface flies as well, the Sound Searcher being one of our absolutely favorites as it has an eye glued to the bottom to look like an injured baitfish.

Look for wind to pick up a little bit as the clouds clear out, find your sanctuary and cover the water well. After the tide has moved out a bit, walk back up and cover the water again if you decide not to move, it is as if you are covering new water.

Lastly, you can't catch fish from your couch so get out there and have fun, let us know if we can answer any questions for you.
