We spent a day on the river Avon with Chris Clemes and his bespoke, traditional split cane rods - each made to order by hand. Great fun fighting wild brownies on these lightweight rods! Check out his work at www.chrisclemes.com.
Our kickstarter campaign for 'Chalk' - a feature-length film all about fly fishing on the UK chalkstreams - is nearly over. We've broken through our initial target and the rest of the funds will go towards more action, better visuals and more fish! Thanks to everyone who has helped so far. There's still a chance to be involved in the process plus some fantastic rewards left to claim, but hurry, they're going fast! http://bit.ly/CHALKSTREAMS
We joined a couple of friends and headed to Wales and the famous River Usk for Brown Trout and a chance at an early Atlantic Salmon. The sun shone and the salmon we're out at sea but we're heading back soon for more.
A day on the lakes in search of pike. Great fun watching the fish smash into your fly out of nowhere, well worth standing in the rain for.
Making the most of a sunny evening out on the boat at Sportfish. Warm weather is a nice reminder that the start of the trout river season is now in sight.
Great evening on the boat. Weather was perfect, but the water cold enough to keep the fish fighting hard 👌
Great fun on the fly, these guys always have a ferocious appetite
A surprisingly warm spell for January got us out and about on the newly defrosted lakes. Great fun, especially as the cold water always makes them fight twice as hard.
Throwback to this 12lb brownie Leo caught on the River Lambourn last summer. She ignored nearly every fly in our box, but couldn't resist a perfectly positioned nymph pattern. Great fun on a 4wt, but the netting was a little nervy to say the least... #gonnaneedabiggernet
One of our favourite catches from 2016. We thought trolls lived under bridges?
Catching up with old friends after the Christmas break, River Dever, upper Test.

Stalking brown trout on a summer's day, armed with a Ben's Fly Rod 6' 3" split cane.
Ben's Fly Rods of Holland are hand-made and they never make the same rod twice. There's never a dull moment when stalking fish with light tackle.
Leo's 6'3" split cane can been seen in action here: http://www.chalkstreamfly.co.uk/bensflyrods
A brown trout that was caught earlier in the season. This trout took a couple of visits, but couldn't resist a well placed yellow humpy.
Now the trout season is over, grayling make great Autumn sport. This video explores a days pursuit of these beautiful fish on the River Test system. Fishing available through Simon Cooper's Fishing Breaks, www.fishingbreaks.co.uk.
Getting up close and personal with a grayling on the River Test
A greedy autumn grayling from the upper Test, UK.
With the trout season closed here in the UK, we look back at a late summer's day on the upper Test with www.fishingbreaks.co.uk.
