Sand Lance are always a great sign, it means salmon are going to be here very soon. Cutts have been gobbling these up too so don't sit around waiting, get out there...photo Caldwell Rohrbach
Time to get your summer spey on everyone. We have a last minute opening for a 7am Intro to Spey class tomorrow...call the store to sign up, here until 6pm. 206-708-7250
Event reminder, we have Bill Marts in the store this evening at 7pm talking about Carp in WA. Great time to ask questions and learn more about the tournament on Aug. 12th, 2017 at Banks Lake.
The early start paid off yesterday as Caldwell Rohrbach and client bringing in a nice sea run cutthroat. Sand Lance everywhere, bring your long skinny flies...
Just saw some of these little guys this AM at Lincoln Park here in West Seattle so there remain some smaller baitfish still cruising the shorelines of the Sound. We have definitely found the early AM to be more consistent here lately so take advantage of the 5 or so AM sunrise.
This Thursday, Bill Marts will be in the store to discuss Carp in Washington. This free event is a warm up for the 1st Annual Washington Carp Jamboree on August 12th. Come in for the clinic, email, call or message us for more details on how to sign up and compete.
To all those dad's who introduced this generation and ones past to this fabulous sport and to those carrying the torch and passing it on to the next, hope you have a wonderful Fathers Day!
Water remains a bit high in most places but there are a few small streams where water flows are at a level we would recommend investigating. Raining now but it won't hold summer off forever, it will be here shortly...
Ah the ever picky Triggerfish! We chased these beauts incesently in Sudan and we are, excited(?) to chase them again in Tahiti here soon. Stay tuned for dates, trip space will be limited and GT's and bones will also be on the menu among others!
Cloudy and rainy spring/summer days make for some good fishing in these parts...especially Puget Sound! Get out there, what are you waiting for?!!
May is over, thinking summer steelhead? We will be guiding the Sky, Cow, Klick and other WA rivers over the next few months. Get on the books for a trip to swing for some summer steel now.
Despite how you might feel about pursuing Sockeye as a fly angler, they are colorful treats to us photographers so thank you Mother Nature! Open slots available still at some great AK lodges for this coming season, be in touch if still hoping to pull the trigger.
