Another great day in the Content Keys. Huge mangroves.
The mangroves have been huge and plentiful. Real day savers with the winds we have been having.
Great day hiding in the back country from the wind. Nine big snapper a few blue fish a trout and may be the biggest Spanish mackerel that I have ever seen.
Great day hiding in the back country. The winds made for some great drift jigging. Trout, lady fish and a huge Spanish mackerel. Then chummed up a bunch of nice mangrove snapper and a few bluefish.
It had been several months, but I still remember a thing or two.
Went for mangrove snapper and got shut out. Fortunately this dog snapper and a matching mutton snapper filled in the gap.
The near full moon definitely had an effect on the bite today. We managed 4 Mahi and 4 black fun tuna. I brought some Mahi and a back strap of tuna to Thai Island on Key West tonight. It was fabulous, had some tuna rolls and tuna tataki Along with some red curry Mahi. Feeling fat and happy.
Friday was slow to say the least. One bright note was this respectable bull taken on an artificial lure in 720 feet of water. The only keeper dolphin of the day. We threw in a tile fish and a rose fish to round out the day.
