Last week we had a bit of a surprise, a little early in the season. The bears loved it as well as the photographers. It has almost all melted now.
We are happy to announce a new little member of the horse clan, Zoey had a strapping 85 lb little filly. Apparently, we have two more on the range that we are rounding up on Sunday. The little one is almost halter trained, she is comfortable with her hooves being picked up, and she is jumping in and out of the trailer like a pro. We have
The Hanceville Fire from the Chilko Road.
Due to a cancellation, we have availability for two persons on a Grizzly Bear Photography Trip October 15-22, 2017. If you are interested, just drop me an email. Beautiful day here at Chilko Lake.
Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Happy Birthday, Dad!
Sixty years ago today, my parents, Bud and Corinne McLean, had a dream to have a hunting and fishing lodge. With lots of hope, love, and faith, they signed the papers on February 25, 1957, to a small piece of property at Chilko Lake. My Dad was celebrating his 30th birthday, and my Mom, Corinne was only 26 years old. In 1957 they had four small children under the age of five, Nancy, Larry, Janey, and Michael. I wasn't thought of yet. Thank you, Mom and Dad, for having the courage to take the road less traveled, (More like a goat trail in those days) for your love, care, humor, kindness, toughness, tenacity, dedication, perseverance, and sometimes just pure stubbornness to keep going even in the face of horrible odds. Congratulations. Thank you.
