Early morning rain showers had all anglers feeling a little cooler than normal, but did just what we were anticipating, raise big fish. Shortly after heading in a rain squall one of our deep lures was hit hard with the unmistakable screaming reel sound of Wahoo. It was a pretty site on a New Years eve for a group out of Colorado who were on a cruise ship stop in Grand Turk
Some windy weather this week produced some hot Tuna action with hook-ups of Skipjack and Blackfin Tunas, but the morning was finished off nicely with this slightly out of season big Wahoo that could not resist one of our short flat lines.
Only the Wahoo evaded a happy Washington DC Couple on this Reel Screaming morning. Landed, White Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Skipjack, Blackfin and Yellowfin Tunas. Had a nice battle with a Shark that bit the hook off the leader just shy of the boat. This trip will be well remembered by all, and ends a long drought of lack of billfish around Grand Turk.
The weekend was finished off nicely for this Californian couple who got in an exciting few hours of fishing while passing through Grand Turk on their cruise vacation. The trip started a little slow due to a high slack tide at midday, but by mid afternoon the bite was hot, and a multitude of species were caught. Wahoo, Skipjack, Cero Mackerel, Blackfin and Yellowfin Tuna were on the scoreboard.
The past week brought in windy, choppy conditions to fish in, but a lucky family from indiana, had a great afternoon trip with the Screaming Reels crew while their cruise ship was docked in Grand Turk, scoring a hook up with a great looking Kingfish.
