The sun is shining and the fish are biting! Oh, happy day!! 😊🎣
We love this photo Stegbone's guest, Mary Link Conner, shared with us! Vacations are made for fishing until the sun goes down! 🎣
Are you a nature lover? ❀ Just a short drive, or boat ride, from Stegbone's is a favorite area of our guests...the Welaka State Forest, particularly the Mud Springs trail. On one side is the Ocala National Forest and Welaka State Forest is on the other...2300 acres of untouched Old Florida! This area is considered the best preserved natural sections of the St. Johns River.

Mud Spring empties 13,750 gallons per hour of clear spring water into a half-mile spring run that flows into the St. Johns River. The water is perfectly clear and you can see fish and swim in this beautiful spot! You also might see bald eagles as they nest along the river, plenty of deer and wildlife. Definitely a place to visit during your stay at Stegbone's! Happy Friday! 😊
Stegbone's guest, Mark Culver, shared this photo of his catch. Wow! I am up for a fish fry!! 🎣

Ever wonder where the start of the St. Johns River comes from? And this really isn't even the start!

This is the St. Johns River about 100 miles south of us at State Route 50 east of Orlando almost to Titusville. Beautiful, right?? 🎣
