20 July 2017 Fishing Report.
Another absolutely gorgeous day in Hatteras. I think I could have put a glass of water on my bow yesterday morning and it would have still been full when we got back.
We got on the Blackfin again. It was a little better than yesterday, we got 22 of them.
The Dolphin conditions are still pretty sparse, so they've been playing a good game of hide and seek with us. They're winning. We found a couple that were hungry enough to come out of hiding. Saw some more in the afternoon, but that water had gotten so hot by then they were barely swimming upright.
We did drop on the Triggerfish at the end of the day, but they weren't as cooperative as before. We put about a dozen of the tasty morsels in the box before we had to pick it up.
It was a fun day for three guys from the mountains.

What an absolutely gorgeous day it was yesterday, completely slick calm. Thank goodness for the A/C, it got a little warm by the afternoon.
We ran way to the southern hoping to find a Blackfin Tuna. They didn't bite as good as they had been for a couple of days, but we did manage to get 16 of them in the box before venturing further offshore.
We found a couple thin streaks of grass in the deep and had a few Dolphin bites, but none that stayed on the hook.
We worked back up the beach and inshore to try our luck on the bottom. That turned out to be a good call, the Triggerfish were there and hungry. We put about three dozen in the box it before it was time to head to the house. They were mostly all a nice class of triggers, including Allyson's citation 5.5lb one.
Thanks for the great time guys.
16 July 2017 Fishing Report.
After postponing from the day earlier due to weather, we were greeted with a gorgeous day.
We ran way to the south trying to find some pretty water, and set out on a decent Bluewater change. We found one dolphin before we got the full spread out. Unfortunately, that was not to be the beginning of many. We got one more dolphin before moving back inshore later in the day to find some Blackfins. We got lucky and caught about 16 before it was time to go home. Sam Wright and his crew did a great job. Thanks for trusting me on Saturdays weather decision.
