With great weather year-round and an incredible marine habitat, there's no limit to the possibilities here.
Islamorada (pronounced aisle-a-more-AH-dah) enjoys the tropical climes of the Florida Keys and a unique marine geography that harbors sailfish, wahoo, tarpon, permit, bonefish, amberjack … the list goes on. Tucked between the Florida Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, with miles of shallow reefs and the Gulf Stream bringing in deep-water visitors, Islamorada lives up to its reputation as the "Sportfishing Capital of the World."
Cruise the aqua blue flats in a skiff, testing your double-haul fly cast against feisty bonefish. Or charter a bigger boat, head offshore to the edge of the reef and wrestle with 70-pound sailfish, considered by many to be Islamorada's premier game fish. Further offshore, drop sturdy tackle into the deep and take a chance at hooking a 1000-pound shark. Whether you're in the shallows or going for the big one, what you reel in can always be a surprise. There's something for everyone, from expert fly-caster to total novice.
Fishing never sleeps in Islamorada. January through March are "winter" (temps at night seldom drop much below 60 degrees), when sailfish are on the bite. In March, favorable winds draw can mackerel and bluefish into the Gulf, and the kingfish are heating up. As the water warms in April, bonefish, permit and tarpon are more frequent on the flats, and charters also start heading into deeper water. July brings the heat, with evening fishing for bonefish and permit, and charters plying the depths. By October the tarpon are thinning out but there are still plenty of other fish around.
Outfitters offer half- or full-day charters and are stocked with an arsenal of tackle to handle the different depths and fish species. First mates climb the "tuna tower" to scout for current edges, weedlines, circling birds and other signs of where the fish are schooled up. The day can really perk up while fishing for one species and then suddenly getting into a patch of water where something else is biting hard.
Aside from the fishing, Islamorada offers opportunities for diving, snorkeling, parasailing, kayaking and a variety of other activities. This, after all, is the Florida Keys.

On our quest for dolphin we go offshore of the Florida Keys into the waters of the Gulf Stream and the drop off known as the Continental Shelf. In these waters we not only find dolphin but wahoo, tuna fish and billfish, including the prized trophy Blue Marlin. Usually we troll conventional tackle but when a large dolphin is trolled up often we will have the chance to cast bait on light spinning tackle to other large fish that are swimming with the first one caught. RD graduated High School in West Palm Beach and while in school he juggled academics, volley ball, baseball, and always helping his family out. After High School he went to Fire Academy to become a Fire Fighter. Once he graduated Fire Academy he landed a job in Haines City FL, and just could not let him self move so far away from the ocean. RD always knew he wanted to work on the ocean or in it! So he took an opportunity to move back to Marathon, in the heart of the Keys, and be a true Conch. He got his captains license, and has been boating his whole life. RDs’ mother and father still live in West Palm Beach and he visits them often. When he visits he is always taking everyone fishing or spear fishing. The stories he has of the fishing, diving and sharks would amaze anyone. LETS GO FISHING! CAPTAIN “RD”
Blue Magic Fishing
We welcome anglers of any age and experience level. As Captain Larry guides the Blue Magic out to sea, the first mate prepares the tackle and makes sure everybody is comfortable using the gear. From kids and first-timers to experienced fishermen, we’ll make sure you’re ready to reel in your catch. Your Captain Captain Larry Bell is no stranger to fishing, having grown up in Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. During high school summer vacations in the early 1970’s, he came to Marathon and served as a mate on the head boat “Marathon Lady.” The day after he graduated from high school, he moved to Marathon permanently. He then studied for and received his Captain’s license, making him the youngest Captain in Marathon at that time. He took that knowledge and worked on some the most prominent charter boats in South Florida, always calling Marathon his home port. Capt. Larry fished in many tournaments in South Florida and throughout the Caribbean—including Cuba, the Bahamas and Venezuela—before purchasing the “Blue Magic” in 1987. The Boat The “Blue Magic” is a 32-foot Stuart Angler, built specifically for fishing and comfort. It has a gas engine (no diesel fumes), 3 comfortable custom fighting chairs, a tuna tower, a private head (bathroom), and shelter from the sun or occasional rain shower.

Silver Spray Guide Service
My name is Captain Mike Weickert and I have been sight fishing the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park for 10 Years. My skiff, a 17-foot Maverick Mirage powered by a 90 hp Evinrude, is kept on a trailer allowing me to fish anywhere in the Keys. What is Provided to Customer I provide all necessary tackle as well as water. Anglers on my boat are covered by my license. Of course you are welcome to bring your own tackle if you would like. Region/Terrain Where You Fish Tarpon, permit, and bonefish are pursued in the clear waters around the Florida Keys. Snook, redfish, and a host of others are fished in Everglades National Park. The Park is about a 40-minute boat ride from the Keys. Typical Weather by Season Winter fishing (Dec., Jan., and Feb.) is very weather dependent. If we have had warm temperatures, 75-80, the fishing around the Keys can be as good as any other time of year. If we have had a recent cold front we would be fishing in the Park as snook and reds are more temperature tolerant. For the remainder of the year, temperatures will be mid-80s to mid-90s.

Call me for great days on the water. We always have fun!
I am Capt. Camp Walker and my specialty is sight fishing the flats of Islamorada in the Florida Keys, Florida Bay, Everglades National Park, and Biscayne Bay National Park. I love to search for fish with a fly rod, however, I am not in any sense of the word a purist. I also enjoy live bait fishing and artificial spin/cast for everyone started out fishing with live bait and Zebco 33’s as kids. I utilize my high energy, perpetual optimism and hard work ethic on the water everyday. It's the catalyst to helping my clients catch fish! That being said, being on the water involves so much more than just catching fish. I am devoted to sharing Florida's incredible natural environment with my clients. It's beautiful out there! Lucky for me, this has been my "office" for the past decade! I promise you one thing, I will never yell at you, and I will do my best to give you the most enjoyable experience possible. My philosophy is the day belongs to the angler. A day on the water can vary greatly depending on weather, tides and the angler's abilities. Each day I look over every variable to ensure you are given the best opportunity to catch fish. The most rewarding part of a day on the water for me is knowing my client is satisfied. I strive to ensure anglers have a trip filled with great memories and a yearning desire to return to this amazing place in the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park.
